2) Replacing and cleaning filters

2a) Round Trepol filter Dismantle the round filter bowl by turning the entire bowl several times clockwise/from right to left (seen from the operating side) until it is released (the Allen screw at the bottom of the filter should not be used).
2b) Round Trepol filter with lights Press the filter bowl upwards and turn it clockwise/from right to left (seen from the operating side) until it is released.
2c) Round, flat filter Turn the filter clockwise/from right to left (seen from the operating side) until it is released.
2d) Square metal filter Remove the filter by sliding it to one side using the small 'finger holes'. Clean the filter in warm, soapy water or in the dishwasher.
2e) Rectangular, flat filter Push to the side using the ‘finger holes’ and tilt downwards.
2f) Square, flat filter Tilt the small flap down and remove the filter.
2g) Charcoal filter All cooker hoods for recirculation are equipped with a charcoal filter. A charcoal filter is broken down with use and therefore needs to be replaced regularly. The life of the filter depends on how much it is used (a charcoal filter cannot be reused). A charcoal filter can be purchased from your cooker hood dealer.

3) Cleaning cooker hoods

Your Trepol cooker hood/extractor has a very long service life, and if you use the correct cleaning agents it will appear as new for many years to come.

3a) Finished surfaces Finished surfaces can be cleaned daily with standard household cleaning agents, but cannot be washed in the washing machine or with solvents.
3b) Brushed stainless steel Use 3M metal polish for daily maintenance. If your cooker hood/extractor needs a more thorough cleaning, it can be degreased with standard cleaning ethanol, wiped with a soft cloth and then treated with 3M metal polish. Scratches can be easily removed by using a 3M scouring pad (always in the brush direction).
3c) Polished steel Polish with Slipol and then wipe with standard ethanol cleaning solution. Or use standard window cleaner. These cleaning agents are available from larger supermarkets and DIY stores. 3M can also be ordered from your cooker hood/extractor dealer.

4) Assembly

Guidelines/fitting height The optimum fitting height depends on the shape of the cooker hood/extractor and whether it is a wall or freely suspended model, as well as external conditions (draughts from open fireplaces, open windows, stairs to first floor, etc.).
The following guidelines are however applicable (the measurements are from the bottom edge of the filter to the stovetop).
Above electric stovetop: Without screen, approx. 52 cm; with screen 60-70 cm
Above gas stovetop: See manufacturer's instructions.
Assemble in accordance with construction guidelines.
